Differences of demographic development in the northwest region of the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis is focused on the demographic development in the Usti nad Labem region and Karlovy Vary region from the year 1993 up to the present. It captures the evolution of demographic processes in the regions using the time series, compares their development and explains the differences between the two regions. It also compares the development of selected socio-economic indicators that have significant impact to the demographic situation in the regions. The conclusion provides evaluation and selected recommendations aiming at improvement of the socioeconomic aspects that affect the entire region most importantly.

Possibilities of utilization of Czech monasteries in contemporary society

This Bachelor's Thesis is focused on monastic buildings in contemporary Czech society - its aim is to highlight possible utilization of these historic buildings. The theoretical section deals with Roman Catholic Church, religious organizations and monastic institutions. Next chapter is historical and generally describes development of monasteries and monastic life in our country. The practical section consists of a summary of the most common utilization of monasteries and two chapters analyzing utilization of two monasteries in Prague - Strahov and Břevnov.

Human Population and socioeconomic development of Central Bohemia Region and programme SROP

The aim of this dissertation is to describe socioeconomic development of Central - Bohemian region and one of the Operational program, which is the Joint Regional Operational Programme (JROP). It contains the comparison of the chosen demographic and socioeconomic indicators during the period 2000-2009 and the benefits of JROP in the Central - Bohemian region. The dissertation is divided into two main parts. In the first one is presented Central - Bohemia region, and the description of the covered indicators, e.g. the structure of the inhabitants in detail of sex and age, natality, structure of abortions, marriages, divorces, migration, and the measurement of these indicators. Further, the basic socioeconomic parameters as the labor market and the associated unemployment, trend of the GDP, transport infrastructure, and opportunities in tourism are described, followed by description of particular Priorities of the operational program. In the analytical part, the comparison and evaluation of the covered indicators in detail of districts in Central Bohemia Region and successfulness of JROP priority axis covering all the Central Bohemian Region is included. Successful projects, amount of paid financial sources to final beneficiaries in detail of particular regions according to priorities.

Socio - Economic Development of the Podbořany Region

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá socioekonomickým vývojem Podbořanska. Charakterizuje tento mikroregion z hlediska jeho historického, demografického, ekonomického a sociálního vývoje. Zkoumá přírodní a kulturní potenciál mikroregionu, dále jeho sídelní strukturu, obyvatelstvo, místní ekonomiku a trh práce, občanskou a dopravní infrastrukturu. V praktické části jsou zpracovány výsledky sociologického šetření názorů místních obyvatel, významných firem a podnikatelů a také představitelů obcí, nebo-li starostů na Podbořansko. Data byla získána vlastním průzkumem v terénu pomocí dotazníků a řízených pohovorů s respondenty. Na základě všech těchto poznatků jsou v práci pojmenovány hlavní problémy a bariéry rozvoje území. V závěru práce jsou definovány příležitosti a potenciál území pro jeho budoucí rozvoj.
